The Role:

We are currently working on a project called Raising Places, a national effort funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. Raising Places engages local leaders in six US communities to build healthier places where children and families can thrive. The project has already caught the attention of a wide variety of people (receiving 155 community applications from across the country) and now we need someone to help us tell our story as it unfolds.

We are looking for a Design Writer to observe and document Raising Places. The Design Writer also will be responsible for working on our firm’s overall communication to make it clear, interesting, creative, and focused. This role will spend roughly 80% of its time on Raising Places and 20% of its time on other billable projects, proposal development, developing case studies, and other communications needs.

This is a 10 month full time position with the firm: from August 2017 through May 2018. Upon completion of Raising Places, there is potential for the candidate to continue in the role in a full time and permanent status based on business need and performance. Salary is commensurate with skills and experience. Our benefits include: medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401K, a professional development budget, a company laptop, and a dedicated desk in the co-working space that we operate, called the Logan Share, which is home to a number of seasoned and up-and-coming creative companies and professionals based in Chicago. The position is located in Chicago, and will involve weekly travel for approximately 18 weeks of the project. All travel expenses are covered by Greater Good Studio.
